GoDaddy v. Telnames

Post by mikeseaton on Tue 28 May 2013, 11:32 am

As most of you will know, GoDaddy (the world's largest registrar) has always decided against selling the .tel extension.

Leaving aside their reasons for this, I note that GoDaddy is now promoting a website builder that could easily be viewed as a competitive offering to a Telnames .tel site.

Have a look at http://www.godaddy.com/hosting/website-builder-new.aspx and note their sales pitch below:

Look great everywhere, including mobile.
We automatically convert your site to mobile - you don't have to lift a finger.
Optimized for the most popular smartphones, including, iPhone®, Android® and Blackberry®.
Mobile-friendly sites increase the likelihood of customer purchase.

Keep your site fresh with popular apps.
Attract more customers and grow your business online by easily integrating social and business applications on to your site.
Has anyone tried this GoDaddy solution - if so what did you think of it ?
