France will be the second Telnames country after the UK

Post by Tim Spears on Thu 06 Jun 2013, 4:11 am

The registrations at Telnames have been decling during the last months. But yesterday 143 new Telnames have been registered. (The highest number I have ever seen on one single day.)
Thanks to French customers.

Telnames may have a hit in the UK, but I think that in addition to reselling .tel domains, they should begin to sell the other domains: established domains such as .com, .net, org, .co.uk, but also some of the upcoming new domains.

Reselling only .tel domains is too limiting and it makes little...

They - being the organisation comprising Telnic Ltd. and its wholly-owned subsidiary Telnames Ltd. - will have to do something in or before the year 2016 !

What's left of that amazing initial investment of $35,000,000 is simply going to run out by then, assuming the current combined annual losses of the two companies continues as at present.

I can't imagine many staff staying if salaries and expenses cannot be paid - so unless there is new investment, a buyout, or a diversification into profit rather than loss-making activites it's GAME OVER !

I'm not being negative - just factual - and refusing to bury my head in the sand as I and many others have done in the past regarding the .tel project !

Telnic staff being laid off to save money will have no impact on the extension because they are useless as we have seen for four years now. In fact, if it meant a move to open source it could only be a good thing.
