An important advice for everyone!

Post by HeavenAndHell on Wed 10 Jul 2013, 10:57 am

If you need to make a decision, first ascertain the facts:

1.) More than 4 years after launch the public awareness about .tel is absolutely zero.
2.) It’s impossible to find a .tel domain anywhere. For the single-pager from Telnames it’s even worse.
3.) Telnic cut almost all development more than 2 years ago!
4.) Doesn’t it sound suspicious that Telnic closed the forum and doesn’t response to customer requests?
5.) The very few people claiming they earn money with a .tel domain don’t want to reveal the domain name for it.
6.) Telnic philosophy is influenced by immorality and bad business sense: instead of thinking about customers and partners, they try to keep the benefit for themselves at Telnames.
7.) From the Telnic investment of 35 million dollars only enough money is left for 2 or 3 more years to cover the yearly losses.

The recommendation can only be:

1.) Don’t register a .tel, especially not from Telnames! The registration fee is waste of money, because nobody could find and visit your domain.
2.) If you own .tel domains as an investment, it would be best to drop them ALL, because nobody is having interest in developing them any further.

The idea of using the DNS was smart, but to make it a success it needs somebody who tries to bring it forward.
But no organization in the world is investing time in the necessary enhancements.

Users don't care about "Data being in the DNS" - only about the additional automated services it can bring - surely Telnic/Telnames can showcase at least ONE example of this after 4+ years ?

If not, why not (rhetorical question) ?

I'm not worried about the future of .tel. At the moment everything doesn't look good, because .tel tries to compete with .com and every other domain extension. All this effort can't bring the breakthrough for .tel, because .tel has to fight against GoDaddy and hundreds of other players in this field. I don't know when this will happen, but somewhere along the way Google or another company big enough to influence the market will decide to use the DNS. That day will change everything for .tel! Probably Telnic knows that this fight can’t be won alone and doesn’t get affected by all the pressure until then. If you want to help your own .tel investment, stop fighting against Telnic and try to improve the public perception. You should have learned that Telnic doesn’t listen to you anyway.

That Telnic's CEO does not listen to advices and voices of sanity which come from all sides and also from forum members, it is not a mystery. People which you blame fighting against Telnic, in fact defend interests of Telnic and fight not against Telnik but against conspiracy plans of some of its leaders first to lead Telnic to bancropcy and after that will happen, to buy its shares for nothing.

The future of .tel is in the far, far future.
If an operator stopped all development, the target isn't a fast success.
.tel is a long-term play!
All parties adjusted their own plans already to get the greatest benefit from the new situation.
The business world is not always nice and fair.
