Telnames registrations start to shrink

Post by Sunrise on Mon 22 Jul 2013, 4:21 pm

After the peak at 10,659 Telnames has already lost 50 registrations net, see TN at: www.dottel.net
What happened?
Are the registrants from 2012 not happy about that their websites can't be found?
Or are they surprised that the renewal fee is £24.95 after they paid only £14.95 last year?
Or did they realize that not much content can be inserted?

Important advice for all Telnames customers: Don't forget to disable the auto renewal! Should Telnames find a solution for the current problems (mainly the poor search results), everyone can register a domain later again.

Telnic don't need to search for a solution: http://www.teltalk.org/t1251-seo-at-telnames
They just have to do it!
Or deliver the directory all forum members are talking about!

Another classic screw up by the promoter. When will these bunnies realise they have to deliver a good looking set of templates with sub-domains and lots of functionality to all customers!

Not the Stalag 13 Hogan's Hero's design in the pro .tels and the completely useless Telnames. I mean what is wrong with them? How can they be so utterly determined to destroy this extension. Personally, I find it unbelievable.

Telnames has gained about 10,000 at the top.
In the same time Telnic has lost 100,000.
Will Telnic ever learn to listen to its customers?
Not everything customers are saying must be right, but it can't be right to ignore them totally.

Telnic have made a decision. Telnic do their thing and nothing can stop them.
It doesn't matter if the last customer runs away!

No it's not unlocked - but why bother anyway - since any discussion about Telnic/Telnames approach to the .tel project is likely to get you banned !

As has been said before, DOES TELNIC NEVER LEARN ?

One of those dropped Telnames was probably mine - I (and other forum members) registered a name as soon as Telnames launched to test the service out.

The number of Telnames is back up to 10,647 today, according to www.Dottel.net, with total registrations now down to 218,066.

It's fairly obvious what is going on - Telnic subdomain .tels are being allowed to fade away (with no development, marketing, newsletters, etc) and the hope is that the single-page Telnames will fill the gap now that they are being actively marketed.

Will it work - my guess is not before the money runs out, or gets too low for comfort !

I would like to see the Telnic .tel registry sold - perhaps to www.Affilias.info - and the Telnames operation expanded to include the production of the promised but never deleivered Tel Global Directory and the launch of full worldwide marketing of the Telnames .tel product.

In the meantime, I am enacting my .Tel Survival Plan !

Telnic has a plan, too.

From my observation I can only guess Telnic want somebody else to program the .tel directory.

Frankly spoken I believe Telnic didn’t want to drop the support for pro .tels, but Telnic don’t want to spend much energy either.

The strategy has been always the same: Low input and hoping for high output.

Telnic don’t bother if the success takes longer. I believe Telnic will raise new money in three years and continue in the same way as seen during the last years.

According to www.dottel.net the Telnames reg figure has dropped again today to 10,629 (from 10,647) and Total registrations have dropped to 217,856 (from 218,066).

Is this just a blip in the previously continuous upward trajectory of Telnames registrations, or are the registrants facing renewal costs finding that the expected "new customers" are simply not materialising because Telnames .tel domains are not being found in Page 1 SERPS ?

As I mentioned before some of the Telnames drops will be from forum members who purchased (and then dropped) a  "taster" domain - but does this explain it fully ?

Be interesting to watch www.dottel.net over the next few days now that Telnames drops are coming through and affecting the overall Telnames figure !

That money has gone. Surely no one would be dumb enough to put good money after bad taking into account the unmatched disaster that .tel is today.

It can possibly also be set of fake TLN that were initially registred byTelnames team for marketing reasons to show they had initially already customers joining in ...

And they do not need anymore, in front of real customers with a x200 fold.

A guess only, no time (nor any possibility ?) to check from TLN dn name itself

no, there was never a sign that telnic is using fraud
the problem is only that the people inside telnic have no knowledge about the internet
