The most valuable Telnames customers are leaving

Post by Sunrise on Thu 25 Jul 2013, 7:03 pm

This is Telnames testimonials site:
http://www.telnames.com/testimonials-with-videos

Even the happiest customers mentioned there are dropping their domains:
http://ecm-electrical-services.tel
http://youniquejewellery.tel

The reasons have been discussed on this forum in detail.
And the first dropping phase has just begun (after Telnames first year)!

Once a while the day will come that a company has to realize its mistakes. Will Telnic realize the waste of time with a single page website? How much time will pass before Telnic will finish its solo attempt with Telnames?

TELnames should encourage , and why not subsidize, proTEL user and power users for their any development or project that would allow leveraging awareness or reach of registered TLN so far :

- supporting maps of TELNames projects
- supporting coupons discovery from Telnames owners
- supporting mobile search and mobile usecase of Telnames
- supporting any third party projects leveraging Telnames awareness

other (business only)  suggestions ?

UNBELIEVABLE !

2 OF THE 4  TELNAMES TESTIMONIAL .TELS ARE DEAD SITES !

Here's the testimonials from http://www.telnames.com/testimonials-with-videos/

“I was aware that our existing .co.uk web site was not mobile friendly, so jumped on it after reading about .tel names in our business journal. So glad I did as it was quick, easy and great value."

"My .tel name was not only very quick and easy to set up, but was also great value. It has increased my presence on search engines and brought in many new customers. Thank you Telnames!"

Here's the Whois lookups for the above - both are PENDING DELETE status !

https://www.easywhois.com/?domain=ecm-electrical-services.tel

https://www.easywhois.com/?domain=youniquejewellery.tel

So a "Happy Customer" is one who abandons their Telnames .tel ?

There is nothing strange about dropping those domains.
If I own a domain with no traffic at all, why should I waste any renewal fees for the next year?

I predict the 2 dead sites on the Testimonial page http://www.telnames.com/testimonials-with-videos/ will be removed by Monday.

Action by Telnic/Telnames has happened before following posts on TelTalk - they appear to be avid readers of this forum - just a shame they won't participate and respond in writing to user feedback !

exactly!
the second telnames year will be much more difficult than the first one, because old customers will evaluate the performance of their tels during the first year
from now on telnames has to acquire more new customers than leaving old customers to keep the registration numbers on the current level

some next valuable TLN individual customers , having "forgotten" to fulfill their domain therefore having no visits/interest at all , will make also painful decision when renewal period arrives ?

emmanuel.tel
joumana.tel
bambou.tel
damian.tel
serena.tel
shirley.tel
marco.tel
julio.tel
hotelsengland.tel
xis.tel

And 2410 of them seen on the fridge shelves so far.

Terefore still some marketing ahead to arise above minimal critical mass ...

Here's the current level of Total & Telnames registrations for the last 3 days (figures refer to close of previous day) according to www.dottel.net:

TOTAL REGS
Wed 24 July: 218,066
Thu 25 July: 217,856
Fri 26 July: 217,676

TELNAMES REGS
Wed 24 July: 10,647
Thu 25 July: 10,629
Fri 26 July: 10,649

We are used to Total Regs drifting relentlessly downwards, but will Telnames now begin to plateau out with just an occasional uplift ?

TIME WILL .TEL - but Time (& Money) are now rapidly running out !

What a bad idea that every Telnames customer can use Google Analytics! What is the motivation to renew a .tel if the registrant sees he is the only visitor of it?

Guess which Director of Telnic & Telnames has registered the Telnames domain Marco.tel ?

Needs to get it populated though !

http://ecm-electrical-services.tel and http://youniquejewellery.tel have already been removed !

The 2 dead sites have now been replaced by 1 site, http://amberfever.tel, whose registrant Katarzyna Hernas (and testimonial) is the same as the removed site http://youniquejewellery.tel

Let's say >>>

a) it is therefore good dynamic PR ...  ;+)
b) this forum is read by smart people  ;+)

Better we decide also to remove our previous posts no to emphasis on this curation from a very reactive marketing team... ???

No point in pointing out what we all know ...

Telnic must love Teltalk very much!   And Teltalk is the only website not in hand of Telnic with discussions about .tel.

Telnames should reconsider its strategy and start paying its customers to keep their domains.

Next lost reference customer: hickspropertyservices.tel (Domain Status: pendingDelete)

BTW it was easy to predict that this customer will be gone quickly:

telnic / telnames is acting like a small and inexperienced start-up but not like a $35m heavy company that exists since 1998 (!)

Plus ca change ! (Google it if unsure of the meaning of this French phrase)

Surely it is better to deal with the root cause of why dissatisfied customers are leaving .tel (Telnames & Telnic) rather than just airbrush them away ?

@Tix - great graphic !

I've heard many of these reasons (excuses) given by people/companies - before the business finally bites the dust to more go-ahead competitors !
