Drastic drop at Telnames

Post by Tim Spears on Thu 22 Aug 2013, 9:40 am

Telnames launched about one year ago. The first registered domains that time are starting to drop.
Only yesterday about 1 % of all domains have been dropped:

20/08: 11,043 Telnames

+16 new Telnames
-115 dropped Telnames

21/08: 10,944 Telnames

That's very good news.
As soon most Telnames have been dropped, Telnic should start thinking about delivering the Telnames template to all Telnic customers for a reasonable price and including subdomains.

It's hardly a drastic drop IMO. 20-30% is a drastic drop ie. what has occurred at the so-called pro .tels.

For me it's only an indication, but 1 % in one day seems to be a lot. Please think 100 days ahead!

Yes, Old .tel is the real joke, but Telnames and Old .tel should both realize that reinventing the wheel is a disaster at some point.

A. Telnames is the only quality listing that .tel has, period.
B. There is no quality Directory, which is the only reason to own a .tel to begin with.

Drops will always occur, but unless the .tel offering is only to find 1 billion "one-time" $uckers and take the money and run, they should understand what has been successful for many decades and pursue that approach, the Directory, the primary reason for the registration of any page.

More important than the drops are the new registrations at Telnames:

17th August: 1
18th August: 5
19th August: 15
20th August: 16
21st August: 16
22nd August: 15
23rd August: 9
24th August: 2
25th August: 0
26th August: 0

.tels still get registered, but only through the Telnic registrars.

What is incredible is the level of ignorance of the whole .tel buildout.

It starts off with a bang and great participation when promoting the following:

1. Create and Control your Communications Hub
2. Join the Only, Real-Time, Global Directory

Of course, number 2. in the legitimate sense has never happened, only the joke known as garbage pages, I mean telpages exists today.

Telpages is so bad that it is promoted nowhere except by Telnic in an isolated spot on it's own website.  Number 2. above, OUCH.

I guess they don't understand that the WHOLE REASON people were interested in .tel to begin with was because it was just like a Forum in a sense.

1. Get your own Official Forum Member Name
2. Join the Only, Real-Time, Global .tel Forum

WHAT A JOKE your effort is when you then say, well just get your very own mobile Forum Member Name, it's listed in the Google Forum but not a .tel forum, good luck.

HUH? THE WHOLE POINT WAS THE "GLOBAL FORUM" YOU ███████, IT'S WHY YOU GET A MEMBER NAME AND NOTHING WILL CHANGE .TEL SIGNIFICANTLY UNTIL THE "GLOBAL FORUM" OR A REAL TELPAGES OR TELNAMES DIRECTORY IS CREATED AND PROMOTED.

DUH.

Well, unfortunately I can report that there is no Telnames Directory to date and that there is no real Telpages Directory worth buying into, and so I can also report that .TEL has broken it's own record:

18 Months of CONSECUTIVE declines in total Registrations for .TEL domain names.

Isn't it time to get that "Forum" (Telnames Directory) built so that the "Usernames" (.TEL Registrations) increase?

The answer of course is "YES ... STILL".

18 months! That must be a new record for the domain industry. Congratulations Telnic.

Perhaps you could add this to your website's front page:

Buy a Stealth domain
Buy a Telname
Be invisible to search engines
Your customers will never find you

.tel - the Stealth domain!

So, are we at least going to see a Telnames Directory by Telnames yet?

No? Going for 20 Months of Declines instead, eh?

Here's A Game - Guess The Bottom !

Post by GoTel on Tue 01 Oct 2013, 8:27 pm

Or you could start a poll to guess the lowest level of .tel domain registrations before Telnic/Telnames gets a clue and a directory that is real !!!!!

Will it be under 200,000?

Will it be under 100,000?

Will it be under   50,000?

Will it be NEVER, and die?

Hmmm ....

It's so crazy!
Telnic sees the registrations falling every day, and meanwhile Telnic is doing absolutely nothing.
Mark Kolb is producing more software in one week than Telnic in three years. This is a real observation!

Why would Telnic/Telnames take any action to develop Telnic .tels ?

It is quite clear to me that Telnic/Telnames sees the future in the SINGLE-PAGE SINGLE POINT OF CONTACT .TEL as shown by http://YourBusiness.tel - so to continue to develop an alternative offering (ie. Telnic subdomain .tels) has no appeal to them whatsoever !

http://MikeSeaton.tel

PS. For those who are new to the forum, Telnic/Telnames are ONE ORGANISATION with the same CEO, CTO, CMO, offices and shareholders, but in legal and tax terms they are actually TWO COMPANIES !`

Another Pathetic Attempt

Post by GoTel on Wed 02 Oct 2013, 6:21 pm

Telnames has "updated" the design capabilities with the ability to change the icon color.

SADLY:

1. The icons are not gradient like the standard purple.
This makes all colored icons look like the cheapest clipart.

2. There is no inverse (black) or second color choice for the design interior.
This makes all colored icons look like the cheapest clipart.

Basically, it's just another useless, degrading Telnic update, same ol' Telnic.

Bright side, you can choose white and make the icons disappear!

And you can use a complete white background picture. If you don't add any contact entries, your .tel will disappear completely.
That's what we've waited for so long. Truly a revolution!

If you do change your icon color, Telnic in its infinite wisdom appears to give you no way to reset the icons to the original gradient purple !

Okay, that's a small error. As long Telnic plays only with colors, we can be sure nothing important will happen to .tel soon!

.tel has proven itself a complete tld joke for years.

Finally, Telnames comes along and there is renewed hope for the tld concept of a good listing in a good directory.

Now, still no Telnames directory and the concept of a good listing has become the tld joke with these design changes that destroys what was hope for the tld long-term.

Brilliant move Telnames, way to blow it with Telnames just like OLD .tel, brilliant.

Guess this Thread name has been helped by Telnames themselves.

Drastic drop at Telnames will be certain now! That's a promise!

It seems that most forum members haven't understood how this game works. I will explain it for you.

2009:

A company wants to make some money and promises you an innovative product. Nobody knows how it will perform, but it's new and it has never been tried before. Beginners who don't have a clue will fall for it because of the big promises.

2012:

After some years it's getting clear that the promised success was only fiction. The company needs to provide new fantasy to keep customers. In this case a new company was founded. To avoid that people will find out the truth, the official forum was shut down.

2013:

After the first and the second company both failed greatly, a new strategy is needed. The next target is to kick out the old customers by cutting all activities and communications. It's only a question of time until the last customer losses hope.

A few years later:

After most customers are gone, most domains will be dropped. Now a big investor will be able to register the best domains at registration costs. Now it's time to start with the development and think about how to create success. But be realistic! The last step won't happen before most enthusiasts from today are gone!

What to do with this knowledge?

Wait for the day until only 50,000 domains are left. Then it will be the time to set .tel on your watch list.

Yeah brilliant strategy, except owning all the best .tel domains at that point is pointless.

So, back to the design "upgrade", you CAN undo the garbage icons in color and return them to the original gradient purple.

You just have to backup the domain and then manipulate the code to previous css style.

It will LOSE your background picture in the restore however, so be sure to save your background to reload.

Unbelievable, these guys are like a baby with a gun.
