No need for that.

If anyone is paying attention they notice that Telnic/Telnames has self-destructive/suicidal tendancies that will take of that themselves!

The flat icons are in line with the latest iOS7 release.
Downloaded on some 500million devices, I think telnic got this one right

An absolutely ridiculous, cheap, childish update that destroys what Telnames had going for it, class.

There is nothing classy or professional about the ridiculous photo implementation, that remains after 1.5 yrs. the iPhone natively and intuitively does full screen photo interaction.

Let's get critical, gee, over substance surely but not over a step that is in line with (half billion people) an overwhelmingly positive transition to iOS7 FLAT icons.

you know better than apple right

The flat icons look like ███, and they didn't survey a half a billion people genius, they made a decision that was low bandwith, ████████████████.

Added:

█████████ it was such a great idea that Telnames rejected it themselves of course.

Telnic waited until iOS7 was released.
The genius is I think it's closer to a billion people/devices a week later

Agreed,  even frankly if I do not know whether TELnic "waited" or whether they very opportunistically did react quickly in last weeks to try to get some traction in the sillage of iOS7 .

The latter is the more likely, but still then can be accounted as a very smart tactical move, IF TELnic could get some traction even only by displacement of air masses behind iOS7   ;+) .

Should be even smarter if they can make some additional move soon to be dragged somehow more firmly behind iOS7 comet.

Also, any such possiblity replicated towards best fit for BBRY towards new BBM10 launch for cross Platform "being" release from BlackBerry ?

? Some sign their are moving and did understand they have to listen to the market  and try to leverage volume through application for the masses,
even through "remora fish" strategy or any other trick that enable to leverage awareness for TEL endangered by not efficient or sharp enough communication so far ?

Of cause, the better the usecases for the masses, the more effective ANY communication plan could be (does refer to on going thread about All numeric Long Domain Strings and attempts for usecases discovery and promotion http://www.teltalk.org/t1466p72-telnic-announces-all-numeric-long-domain-strings-available-from-15th-october-2013#8905 )

Nether thought why TLN is a bit embarrased building themselves a directory... ?
and shooting themselves in the (other remaining TELnic' s left) foot while at the same time they might be imploring Hibu alikes & other YP directories to register automatically the TLN sites to compensate poorer individual SEO capability of these ?

Ok I agree they should have talked plainly with the TEL ecosystem stake holders from months   to solve this  and have for example the community develop indirectly such geo mapped and mobile directory, or voice search directory for them, so keeping politically correct towards  YP,

but then they would feel they will get too dependant from the community ...
chicken and egg issue, their problem with their no-money for sure...

that others would have solved in different manner of course,
as I agree with you that it is more important than colors or staring at flies at the window as said in Japan (therefore no to be considered as an insult here, entomologists are very respectable people wherever they are from ;+)

but still seems difficult emancipation move for TLN  from directory professionals,  especially when dependancy & hearty attachment alt. potential insider previous connections , between TLN  and incumbing YP sector ?  ...

so be trailed by sharks in a typical (still to be proven ) energy and money saving remora tactic with little colors in hand,  is not so bad  potentially ,  compared to flies entomologist behavior...

please excuse my self-cracking jokes in prevision of the week end  ;+)

That was Telnames choice, this was the only update they provided and announced to the world, so we talked about what Telnames chose.

Speaking of which, it was such a "great idea" that Telnames rejected it themselves of course.

Telnic and Telnames lose registrations every day and all they do is adjusting the colors of icons.

Argee, this is good promotion of a small minor function but only for companies which do far more improvements of primary.
For Telnic | Telnames it may just annoy users.

Oh.. for telnic users. I think that local UK telnames users even don't know about telnic and 1st version of webproxy.

So, if we can look on telname only, all is quite normal (not good because of the slow development of the company in terms of sales volume).

But they will never get rid of the shadow of Telnic!

And tens of thousands of disgruntled users. Because, even if treated as approximate telnic roadmap plans, not promises, still had the press releases (e.g. "Image‐based adverts come to .tel") in which telnic explicitly promised the development of a functional and has not fulfilled promises.

P.S.  That's it. I, too, was involved in these useless discussions.
Well, that has little to use a translator, or else I would have written an entire bedsheet.
All the while I will not do automatic filling, will participate in the talks only at the developer area

Nothing wrong with giving more color selections to users and discussing it!

But come on, Telnames (= Telnic)! How do you expect to reach more than 11,000 customers?
What is your target? Reaching 15,000 customers in the next few years?

They should think about nice usecases, and adapt features to them, and them get wholesale large customers and channel partners, as well as end users acquired through Registrars.

Which is not some prerequisit task required towards any incombent Registries  ( .com etc) , but is compulsory by essence here as TEL as some special features or special limitations in relation to its features.

Then the Registry,or a Service Provider like TLN, has to market its "product" and its "services" to reach any success or maintain its position. It can hide and keep same atttitude than incumbant Registries.

Same situation (but different features & different figures ) with dot mobi , now more and more killed i,n its initial positionning by "responsive web design" trend even if figures are much better ,although still more known & popular than TEL .

OK TEL is different, BUT because it is different,  therefore Tel Registry has still to unrelentlessly explain and pitch what TEL is good at, and adapt TEL product and services against market evolution through years .

Success should then be measured by number of DN numbers registred, with some related usecase/usage attached to a given TEL dn, although a small proportion of them would be related to pure vanilla DN trading as for any Tld.

So the more interesting and beneficial real life usecases , the more satisfied users and significant DN number metrics.
Negate this logical sentence and get the present situation.

If color adjustments are a strategic asset and answer to TLn customers major claims, all the better, this will rapidly show sel productive in TLN successful records, possibly to reach 15K in (some ) future... Is this profitable ? Their problem.

If not a strategic answer , TLN and more importantly the Registry itself , has to come back to basics again, with more time elapsed & waisted , and new market evolutions to run after.

Will see how the Registry is able to leverage the introduction of long numbers in 10 days, with or without usecases presented to Registrars (status still unknown) , and to the community to get positive support (should be ) and propagation through it.

Absolutely, and a terrible decision when they do make one!

Just look at all the Telnames using the new, non-gradient, ragged-edge icon update!

http://www.pinterest.com/telnames/our-customers-tel-names/

Hmmm, can't seem to find even one in that fancy "Telnames Directory" that uses another company called Pinterest they promote so often ...

Ha Ha Ha !

The longer Telnic waits with development activities, the longer Telnic must watch as the criticism continues to grow. Unfortunately Telnic believes to know everything better that all of this doesn't matter.
