A see through image gallery.

Post by Bunjie on Tue 12 Jun 2012, 1:23 am

As we can upload gifs and png etc to the Image Gallery and the background I'd like to see the ability to convert alpha on the Image Gallery to a see through box, much like a window or as an optional 6th 'image' after the 5 standard images, thus this way we can see the background behind the card which can be used for creative marketing techniques and extending the alloted allowance provided.
..
An example would be film makers who could put a vertical camera cell frame down the middle of their large image if locked in place correctly, with animated squares and as a client scrolls down with the card it revels more of the animation or self animates much like you would with a flip book as a person presses 'right' to the # bookmark 6-7-8-9-10 phantom background images.
..

..
This would be useful for people wishing to add more images than the current allotment allows for which is 5, they could be placed onto the background vertically and have a setting in the control panel that when you reach the 5th image after clicking next aka right if activated, it uses the standard webpage #snap to 'section' urls to focus that window on the first 'background frame' and continues for every right click.
..
If you visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telnic you will notice a table of contents with quick links, the urls are in the hash format http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telnic#Differences_from_domain_mobi and are standard on most websites, these should be introduced to allow quick snapping to sections like:
..
http://fustachio.tel/#Payment_Methods http://fustachio.tel/#Biography etc which can also be used for the image framing http://fustachio.tel/#image_6 http://fustachio.tel/#image_7 etc
..
So to break it down, like a ladder on the background image with each placement being marked out with a hash url focus link, the 6th see through phantom 'image' would be a 'holder' that would give the illusion of viewing image 6-7-8-9-10 but with each right click the webpage window would be focused further down the background image ladder, and clicking left would take you back up it until you reach 6 then it just shows the uploaded 5-4-3-2-1 images.

If alpha can allow a see through to the background when we wish it, and we can get more control over the image gallery, we can have really creative cell layered marketing that allows ladder snap hash urls to focus on sections of the background, when either as just a phantom image 6-7-8-9-10 or when using the normal images to produce a creative layered technique to express many things.
..
Logos are an interesting one where uploading a part alpha image could allows us use set snap to hash links to convey an illusion of animation or even an extremely small micro story much like many illustrators do daily, that can be updated with the api. Or if telnames allowed the images to be updated by an RSS an illustrator can enhance his box drawing 'daily funny' in any number of ways for a visitor go to his .tel to view it, then maybe donate etc.

If the alpha image snaps to
..
Image one
http://www.teltalk.org/t148-a-see-through-image-gallery#486
..
Then
..
Image Two
http://www.teltalk.org/t148-a-see-through-image-gallery#487
..
While keeping it 'locked' on the image gallery, and as you click right it moves to the next 'background image' stored 250x250 image frame we can do really nice things, as the current background image only really is viewable around the edges so we should not waste space and make use of what we have.
..
If it was also possible to have 3 background images in the future aka split the big image we use now in half and have the background locked and resized left and same for the right side then it would be better but a bit more complex, but we could use the same bandwidth if the upload system auto split it in half and stored it as 3 images, left, right, center ladder with center having that extra part of the standard image on it's top and bottom to give the surround illusion of it being in one piece.

Basically allowing us to have a standard background, but use the space hidden behind the white card to store images embedded on the single background image we uploaded, but not break the illusion of it being a full image.
..
Then use the snap to links to grab a view of each image stored on the background.
