Integrating forms into your .tel

Post by Tix on Wed 18 Dec 2013, 6:23 am

Since Telnic wasn't able to provide forms for .tel within 5 years, here is an alternative: http://docs.google.com/forms

It's possible to create e-mail forms or sweepstakes and many other things.

@Tix - so how exactly do you "integrate" this with a .tel - have you an example URL for us to view ?

Thanks.

The integration works only with a webpage link to the Google form on a .tel.

Unfortunately I don't have an example. I only wanted to provide some help for .tel users who are missing the ability to generate their own e-mail and other forms.

It's possible to create e-mail forms or sweepstakes and many other things.

It is also still possible to use telmailbox to make integrated contact forms    see  https://www.telmailbox.com/2bc79860

No integration, only a link. Better to use with any short-link redirector (e.g. bit.ly) for good looking.

Good idea! Why not combining Google forms with a short-link redirector?

As usual the almost completely useless .tel can't do yet another thing.

Or maybe you could just use any one of thousands of other tlds that allow you to do whatever you want, and let .tel be what it was created to be, a better listing in a better directory!

Does anyone know when this Global Directory will be launched? I haven't heard from Telnic.

The date has been set. It's on the same day as Elvis is going to make a comeback.

The only thing they have managed to come up with is their very own highly-fragmented joke called TelPages.

www.telpages.com

The one they advertised and took people's money with has NEVER happened ... yet?

added:

Take for example a search in TelPages:

First, type in MARK and you will get Mark Kolb at mark.tel, a great start, but then you get garbage before you even get the MARK's that have registered .tel's. Hmmm.

Second, type in KOLB and you will get kolb.tel, again a great start, but try to find Mark Kolb and you can't even find him in the first many pages.

TelPages is a joke that doesn't focus on titles and domains first, that is, the REAL registrants of .tels, so who would ever care?

If you can't even find your own .tel registration in TelPages where there is NO other TLD competition, why would you EVER have one when you KNOW it's not going to be found in Google.

Real geniuses at $35 Million and 5 years of bumbling, eh?

Can't even give the people the 2 very simple reasons to buy one in the first place!

IT WON'T !

How can I be so sure ?

Easy really - Telnic says the "World's Only Real-Time Global Directory" already exists for .tel - so obviously they won't put time/money into developing something they claim is already there !

Shouldn't a directory be formatted by place and also category?

Such a website/directory would have attracted many punters early on in the process eager to get listed in the directory.

They could have even required a certain standard of entry for which they could have provided templates. Or perhaps opened it up on a country/category basis over time.

They are truly the dumbest business people on the internet that I have seen.

Now like little girls they are hiding rather than facing the reality of their current situation. They should be engaging with the community to find solutions to what is clearly the worst domain failure in internet history.

It was a clear decision from Telnic not to cooperate with the community anymore and not to seek for advices from experts.
Telnic's strategy is aimed at making a strong cut in development until impulses come from outside one day, e.g. in case other companies start using the DNS.
Until then the .tel project is on hold now!
Of course, it’s no wonder that previous partners from Telnic are disappointed about it; especially since this strong change happened three years ago without any communication or information at all.
Besides frustration of registrants this behavior results in strong decline of domain registrations.
It can last decades until .tel will recover; perhaps .tel will never recover!
