Telnic PRESS RELEASE: Cancellation of subdomain based services

Post by Tel Future on Wed 15 Jan 2014, 2:40 pm

LONDON, United Kingdom – Wednesday 15th January 2014 – Telnic Limited (http://telnic.tel), the Registry Operator for the communications-focused .tel top level domain (TLD), today announced a significant improvement for all .tel domain holders.

After a long search for a suitable partner, finally Telnic was able to identify a reliable service provider that acts completely independently from Telnic and thus can guarantee a high level of speed in development.
Telnames is an experienced company with a strong customer base that will kindly provide the future support for all customers.

In the future, no more domains will be sold through the network of registrars. All existing domains will be merged with the autonomously operating company Telnames.
As part of the transfer each holder of a .tel domain will be offered a special price for renewal fees in the amount of $30 yearly.

Khashayar Mahdavi, CEO of Telnic, said: "We are delighted to improve the service and to provide the future of our neglected TLD on a stable ground. We see it as a great advantage that our customers will no longer have to deal with uncomfortable subdomains. We thank all our loyal customers for their infinite support."

April fools in January? Nothing on Telnic.org.

Giveaways:

kindly provide
uncomfortable subdomains
infinite support

None of those phrases would appear in a genuine press release. But you had me worried!

This "Press Release" was obviously a spoof, given away by some of the words used, but how long before such a press release is genuinely issued ?

The described scenario doesn't seem to be unlikely if taking the behavior of Telnic into consideration:
  • The unreasonable price increase at Telnic in December 2013
  • The stop of all development and communication
  • The collusiveness at Telnic about Telnames
Hence every domain owner has to adjust for further strongly increasing prices in the future.

Re: Telnic PRESS RELEASE: Cancellation of subdomain based services

The idea of an automated link to "partners" - regularly updated - is a good example of what .tel was supposed to be all about - see http://blog.telnames.com/mobile-website-leader-telnames-expands-offering-with-launch-of-local-listings-management-service-for-small-businesses

BUT WHY do Telnames refuse to provide active links on the "Partner Network brands" listed on http://www.telnames.com/telnames-partner-network/ which would take you to each partners search input page so that you could check out their claim for yourself ?

I have repeatedly suggested this very obvious mod on forum posts (should take a couple of hours to code and test all links) but as usual Telnic/Telnames ignore such suggestions from experienced developers and marketers - even though it would give their claim of "automatic link to partner sites" credibility !

Do they not understand that if you make a claim to a potential new customer you need to be able to show that what you say is true ?

http://MikeSeaton.tel

PS. This automatic link is NOT available to Telnic subdomain .tels - it does look as if Telnic/Telnames have lost interest in them !

What if Telnames doesn't tell the truth?

If Telnames say they are the leader for mobile websites, they must be the leader for mobile websites.
If Telnames say they have an extended network of partners, they must have a big network.
If Telnames say they aren't the same company as Telnic, they must be something different (despite the fact that Telnic and Telnames have the same CEO, CTO, employees and office).
Because Telnames have nothing to hide and always try to communicate as comprehensive and truthful as possible, e.g.:

Aled Williams about Telnames on 16th April 2012:
Recently, speculation regarding an entity that has yet to launch and which is testing a new template unrelated to the CTH competition templates has been discussed heavily in this forum. For clarity, we would like to say that we will not use this forum to discuss this entity and any questions relating to this entity should be directed to them, via their .tel name. We can however confirm that this entity is not an ICANN-accredited Registrar and thus why Telnic will not be engaging in communications regarding this entity in the .tel community forum.

Justin Hayward on 24th April 2013:
This is a Telnic forum, so any questions for other service providers and any campaigns they're running regardless of who they are would probably be best directed to them. I'm not involved in any outbound email marketing campaigns so I can't help you there.

The best evidence that Justin Hayward has nothing to do with Telnames:

Here's part of Justin's entry at http://uk.linkedin.com/in/justinhayward

Justin Hayward's Experience

Communications & Business Development Director Telnic Ltd
Privately Held; 11-50 employees; Internet industry
May 2008 – Present (5 years 9 months) London, United Kingdom

Development and delivery of hollistic communications incorporating customer service, social and online media and offline communications in earned and owned media. Additionally, product management responsibilities for Telnames and .tel platform. Company spokesperson and presentation and shared responsibility for business development with CSPs and non-traditional domain name providers.

Pretty clear statement I'd say - by Justin himself !

Mr. Hayward has a problem with telling the truth:

With "other", "they" and "them" he means Telnames.

How long Telnic wants to continue putting the company in a difficult situation?
Nobody is allowed to know that Telnic and Telnames are one company (besides the legal aspect, made up to avoid conflicts with ICANN).
But why creating contradictions only for the benefit of making Telnic / Telnames look silly?
Everyone who is interested will find out the truth very quickly anyway.
