"Curiouser and Curiouser !" as Alice in Wonderland would say.

WHY is CTH SUPPORT now being handled from a GERMAN phone number ?

Click http://cth.support.telnic.tel and the phone numer for CTH Support is given as +49231970322001

+49 is the Country Code for Germany - why is Telnic directing CTH queries to this number and who does it belong to ?

When did Telnic open up a German office - or is it someone's home phone number ?

In other words what's going on at Telnic regarding support for CTH ?

Just seems very odd to me - I suppose there is a logical explanation - or is that too much to hope for ?

Thanks all for the info in your replies.

The technical relationships that Telnic have formed - and Telnames as well with their use of Key Systems as their registrar - emphasises how difficult it would be for another organisation to take over the .tel extension unless they bought out the shares of Telnic Ltd (which also gives 100% ownership of Telnames Ltd).

That way you would automatically get all the legal agreements that have been set up by the two companies - as well of course as the patents concerning the DNS access that have been filed.

Mind you without CTO Henri Asseily - who not only was the strategist but also AFAIK personally wrote and maintained the mobile apps - there would appear to be a gap in the knowledge base that any would-be purchaser would acquire.

IMO an announcement regarding the financial future/ownership of Telnic/Telnames is likely to be made this year 2014 - check out this post to see why I think this !

New project by Henri Asseily: http://referd.net/#team

Makes me wonder why Telnic didn't develop a similar app!

@Spocky, @FrankW

Just goes to show there is LIFE AFTER TELNIC - I wonder if Kash has his future mapped out yet for when the money to pay salaries/expenses finally runs out ?

If they were not able to reach a success with such extraordinary idea as TEL, then I am sure that most probably they will fail with this one also. Of course, if their business plan is not the same as earlier: first to find investors, and next to spend their money on salaries.

A very valid point from @hulltv - ALL TelTalk forum members, to a greater or lesser extent, have committed that most valuable of commodities - time - as well as a lot of money in many cases - to the .tel project.

Telnic/Telnames have made such a MESS OF THE IMPLEMENTATION of what is in my opinion a VERY GOOD IDEA that all we can do now is wait for them to quit as custodians of the .tel project and be replaced by a go-ahead 24/7 type of internet organisation such as Afilias.

Remember what we've got now is Phase 1 - the key to success is the automated software services using the DNS data (such as Dial/Email/Skype by Name) that is Phase 2 - however this is dependent on a "critical mass" of user data being present which simply shows no sign of happening under Telnic/Telnames.

So what to do now ?

Obviously personal circumstances vary, but what I'm doing is cutting my .tels down to the cream of the crop (many dropped .tels are no longer picked up and will still be available for re-registration later), using retained ones for revenue generation and traffic leads to my .coms, and waiting for one or more of these events to happen:

1. Telnic/Telnames to run out of money to pay staff salaries/expenses.

2. Telnic/Telnames to find they can no longer function effectively having lost key staff such as Henri Asseily (CTO, Strategist, Mobile App Developer) and Aled Williams (Customer Support boss).

3. Companies House to take action against Telnic/Telnames for twice exploiting a little known but legal loophole that has allowed them to delay filing their 2013 accounts a total of THREE times. Only ONE delay is supposed to happen - by extending your financial year end by up to 6 months - unless a company is in Administration.

4. Telnic/Telnames to lose the .tel licence with ICANN when it comes up for renewal in 2016.

Not sure which event will occur first - but I'm pretty sure at least one will happen in the not too distant future !

Mike, that's true!
All options 1 till 4 will automatically lead to the situation that .tel won't be managed anymore by the people currently in charge.
And that's the only situation that can bring improvement to .tel.
Hopefully it won't be too late!

The intriguing question:
Will .tel be completely destroyed already before the necessary change of leadership (or exchange of Telnic) finally happens?

Companies House won't be active in this matter:

Thing is when Tel what Launched last time it had little competition now with all the NEW GTLDS
it will be harder.
you would be better putting your money into something else

Tel had its chance first time...It looked ice cream with the wrong people in place, so failed but others can learn from how not to do it ,so tel has in a way help other business.

It will never return you just have to move on.

The idea of .tel was great, but the execution was a disaster.
With the current managers nothing can and nothing will change!

The current manager tries to stay in charge as long as possible although no money is left anymore:
