Can it be that people need a website that can be found instead?

You must be thinking of Google and traditional websites, those have their place and there are thousands of tlds for that.

.TEL and Telnames are profile pages, so you are partially correct, people do need a profile page that can be easily found.

What Telnic and Telnames just can't seem to get is the need for the Directory for Registrants and profiles to be found in, just like the millions that use Yellow Pages worldwide every day.

http://ys.tel shows a good old .tel directory for these, Maxi was kind enough to bring this one to our attention.

People use this kind of directory wisely every day.

Image trying to "Google all your contacts", instead of "having them in your address book on your phone".

A Telnames directory is simply supposed to be a .tel Registrant directory that gives you the profile and contact information of Registrants, in an easy-to-find .tel search engine.

Since there is no "address book" for .tel Registrants there is no need to "add contacts", that is, Register a .tel

Too bad people don't have a reason to add contacts to the world's first global address book, there is no "address book".

Yes there is - according to Telnic's web site !

I wonder how many newbies register a .tel believing this statement to be true ?

No, here is the definition:

address book - a notebook or equivalent electronic storage medium where one keeps names and addresses.

You can't even find names and addresses of .tel registrants in TelPages, here is the relevant definition for TelPages:

garbage - worthless, useless, or unwanted matter.

@GoTel - unfortunately you're flogging a dead horse !

As long as Telnic/Telnames continue to live under the illusion that they've already created a .Tel Globsl Directory they're not going to do anything about the reality of the situation !
