URL Shortner

As the title says it all,

 • Custom URL keyword
 • Historical Data: Clicks reports, Referrers Tracking, Geo-Location stats
 • Short URL

1. not working ex: http://redirects.tel-website.info/
2. Gl6.com is different in terms of features.
3. Its a top level domain name and not some country based .in
4. Why do you think we have hundreds of email services? why not everyone uses one service?
5. This service is not a one day or a year based one as it's going to stay fo long in the business.

I like the URL shortener services, they are usable, although, the service must be really stable to be usable for long time and to be reliable.

dottel, let me suggest you making GL6.COM into API based service, not only WWW based service. You could make a module for PHP, Perl and other languages and help people use the service automatically.

To understand what I mean, you can see here how many Perl (programming language) modules are there for WWW Shortener services: http://search.cpan.org/search?query=...orten&mode=all

That means, mass of people and web services use URL shorteners without visiting a website. For example Twitter uses URL shorteners automatically. By enabling API and making it reliable, you get more exposure.

Please look better into your code, as when my agent has tested your service, he has sent me following report:

URL has been shortened

Original URL: http://bestway

Short URL: http://gl6.com/m

Track url (Analytics): http://gl6.com/m+

http://bestway added to database

So, don't you think you shall have better TLD checks? I am working in Perl, and I use this one for TLD checks:http://search.cpan.org/~alexp/Net-Do.../Domain/TLD.pm

For PHP, maybe this search helps:
http://www.google.ba/search?sourceid...=php+tld+check

And why is the tracking not protected? As anyone can see it?

tell your agent that http://site.com/page.htmlhttp://localhost or http://whatever/ are valid urls on intranets.

check bit.ly service it does the same there is a reason for that

JLouise, thanks for the suggestion.
but we have already had this on the our list and is already ready for the release. We do not intend to give away all the features right on the day one and sit thinking for the next 6 months on the new developments.

Yes, there is no need to protect tracking.
I may use an ezine article on my twitter and the same url may be used by some other facebook user. So as for the service aim, there is no such need for such protection

Since years we have installed some PHP script on our domain: http://yu0.net and I think it shows some advertising to short URLs.

See: http://yu0.net/?r=ft
