Notion Ink Adam

Anyone else here looking forward to the release at CES of the new Notion Ink Adam Tablet, I for one can't wait to order one the UI works with leaves on an Android desktop, optimised for mobile sites and apps.

Fantastic sales tool for .tels.
See blog http://notionink.wordpress.com/2010/...ii-the-leaves/

Beats the iPad on price and capability.

Adam & Ipad Tablets

Looks an interesting machine - though I'm not sure how easy it is to get used to having a trackpad on the back surface.

I was planning on buying the Apple Ipad 2 (due for formal announcement in the next few weeks) - though I hope the rumours of the Ipad 2's screen size being reduced to 7" are untrue.

It's possible Apple could produce the Ipad 2 in the current 9.7" and a smaller 7" size - the twin-size approach certainly worked well for the new MacBook Air.

Back to the Adam - here's some videos http://tinyurl.com/35zof68

Mike, the Tech. Spec. of the adam far outways the iPad (won't list them all here) in any shape or form. Please take a closer look before you spend your money on an iPad. http://notionink.com/.

Steve - before you place your order I would check out http://tinyurl.com/39esccy - they may all have got it wrong of course and every issue raised may have a reasonable explanation - but there does seem to be a lot of concern.

Re specs there is no doubt the machine looks good - but what succeeds in the marketplace is not always the best-specced product - customer confidence, availability to view before buying, returns policy, infrastrucure to deal with any pre-sale queries and post-sales problems, etc., all count for a lot before today's consumer makes a significant purchase.

Let us all know how you get on with the Adam if you decide to order one in the end - the iPad has opened up a huge marketplace for truly portable computer access to the internet and there are a lot of tablets being launched/enhanced in 2011.

Thanks Mike will of course wait for first reviews, but thanks for the post, it would have to be the best scam this century. Will definitely get one and let you know how I get on.

I'm mostly a cautious soul, some of these reports don't instil confidence for me, not that I'm in the market for a tablet at the moment, but I would wait a few weeks.
Good luck to both of you

Not released in UK yet so will have plenty of time for reviews. However if it is all that's promised, with the new Pixel Qi screen, it would be perfect for taking .tels to your potential customers.

Notion ink Adam looks cool, though I´m also looking at others such as the Archos 101 with android 2.2.
Its currently the thinnest and lightest with a weight of just 480g.
At below $300 its also quite cheap.

Archos has been making tables long before Ipad,
and as such have experienced in the design of them and are a trustworthy company.

Though I have now read some really poor reviews of it, I think I will wait.

But I think we will see a lot of cool tablets pop up this year.
