Page Rank

Can anybody tell me how high they have ranked in pagerank on any of their .tel sites.

I just went to look at one that I have ahd for a few years but never check too often and it is a 3. Seems pretty good

Try this http://www.mytel.me/active-dot-tel-d...it=Find&wpr=on

but you should always double check the pagerank by visiting the site (provided you have G toolbar installed in your browser).

Not sure how accurate the tool is but for a quick reference you can use it

Just checked my personal Dot Tel http://MikeSeaton.tel (using Google Toolbar installed on my PC) and it ranks PR 3 - so I've got a little way to go to catch http://Justin.tel and http://Henri.tel of Telnic who both rank PR 5.

But Page Rank isn't everything - the search http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=mike%20seaton brings http://MikeSeaton.tel up in Position 1 of 3,640,000 - so it does look as if Google likes personal Dot Tels!

Henry and Justin both have hundreds and hundreds of one way backlinks to their .tels from blogs forums and telnics own sites. So it is understandable that they have PR5. As we know PageRank is pretty much all about the quality and quantity of backlinks.

Perhaps we all need to do a bit more linking to ours and others .tels

http://PeoplePlace.tel offers valuable 1-way backlinks - I've got a link at http://s.united-kingdom.more.more.world.peopleplace.tel - make sure you've got yours - it's the most comprehensive Dot Tel people directory I'm aware of.

On Google
Not using the .tel extention, just the first name.

"Henri" Page 3 out of 54 million
"Justin" Nowhere?
"Cees" Page 1 out of 4.34 million.

Probably not a fair comparison given Henri has to compete against 54 Million, however I don't have the back links he has.

Just tried to imagine 4.34 million cees

PageRank is a google measure of backlinks, age, length of registration, frequency of content change - but mainly quality backlinks. a few permanent quality backlinks are usually enough for a PR3.

One of my sites was PR3 for about 3 years and without any further linking that I knew of went to PR4 and has been that for about 4 years now can't seem to crack the PR5 barrier.

But as Cees just proved it's SERPs not PR that counts if you want to be found.

Simple as that:)

for those interested, am sure a one way backlink from telnic's own:
http://ilovemytel.com would help boost you up the pages

Cees03-15-2011 07:54 PM

In this case it's basically useless as I can't think of anyone actually using that term to find me if their looking for a tiler.
But I do get a kick out of the 1st page ranking.

What a useful site http://ilovemytel.com is to refer someone to if you want to get the .tel message across quickly and easily.

I note the domain was registered on 17 January this year so it's a new development - it would be a good idea if Telnic could put a prominent link to http://ilovemytel.com on http://telnic.org - I have added a link on my own .tel info page at http://dot-tel.mikeseaton.tel
