So Why The **** dosen't "Joe Public" see .Tel as a cool thing to have - in the same way that Facebook was viewed that led to it's viral growth ?

Easy to answer: the design of a .Tel website is extremely restricted and in addition ugly in the result + no applications are available yet which give users a real benefit! So let Telnic work on design and software implementation into famous services such as Facebook or iPhone and .Tel will be cool, too!

I doubt very much that Telnic will be working on any significant enhancements to their subdomain based .tel offering - as we know virtually all software development in the last 12 months has been on the Telnames web site, single page image/video template, Telnames control panel and CTH.

FYI only 1 of the 8 items planned by Telnic for completion by 30 June 2011 has so far been delivered - see http://www.teltalk.org/t145-the-long-lost-tel-roadmap-uncovered

So the future for .tel - and where the only marketing is currently taking place - would appear to be the Telnames single page image/video template as shown by http://YourBusiness.tel

If they won't do that, then we'll have to wait for a very long, long time until .tel succeeds!

In the beginning I couldn't believe it, but it seems you're right! Because since Telnic doesn't give any statement for the cancelation of software development, roadmap and now even the newsletter, it looks like Telnic doesn't have any interest to continue their work on the control panel for other registrars than Telnames.

And now it becomes clear why Telnic has stopped every communication, because they don’t want to admit that.
