now I think Telnic lose money,and will be losing money to 2015. Is my opinion,I don`t know

A google of "telnic company accounts" provides the info below.
http://companycheck.co.uk/company/03555437
As telnic ltd has ltd status in the uk, accounts have to be filed and made public.

Assuming the figures at http://companycheck.co.uk/company/03555437 are correct it appears Telnic is worth just under £9 million.

The investment funding raised to develop .tel is reported as $35 million, just over £22 million.

So in rough figures Telnic has reduced in value by over £13 million since it raised the capital to develop .tel.

So we are not the only ones sitting on a loss on our investment - Telnic shareholders are as well !

However with over £9 million cash in the bank it is clear Telnic will be a financially viable company for some time yet, even if the annual new registration and renewal income for approx 300K .tel domains falls below their operating costs.

As you can expect from the numbers in the link above, Telnic has proper growth of worth and revenue!

An investment of just over £22 million ($35 million) which is now worth just under £9 million is a LOSS OF OVER £13 MILLION for Telnic's shareholders, however you look at it !

Regarding profitability, the figures at http://companycheck.co.uk/company/03555437 do not cover profit and loss so without looking at the official accounts no-one outside Telnic can say whether they are currently operating profitably - my point was that even if they are running at a loss, with over £9 million cash in the bank, they can afford a "burn rate" for quite a while.

So in summary, Telnic has suffered a substantial loss in capital value and we don't know whether they are currently operating profitably or not.

@maximka,

All absolutely true, apart from the last para of the last quote - we THRIVE on change but don't make a fuss about it.

Don't look back!

@maximka

Glad to see you also appreciate The Reality of .Tel

There are some on this forum to whom .tel is just a hobby and so it won't really matter a lot to them if .tel goes belly-up.

I prefer to treat an internet business with a professional attitude and suggest positive moves to get things changed before this unique opportunity to change the way the world communicates is lost forever !

for what its worth - i WOULD NOT expect a large number of premium landrush tel domains to drop. these are easily worth the reg fee and then some, and i wouldn't expect many owners of such names to be letting them drop

i'm more concerned the 100k or so telchina domains renew.

spline12-06-2011 08:23 PM

I´m quite sure they do not get $10 per .tel domain more like $2-3, the other part go to the reseller.

Since domain resellers earn most of their income on hosting and extra services not on the domain name and .tel somewhat removes the need for hosting and there are no extra services they can offer. (well very little.) they will have to probably earn less per domain name in order to get resellers to sell to them.

By the way, yesterday was registered 算卦 .tel "Fortune-Teller". What if to commission him the prognosis of perspectives of investing in TEL?

I think it is $8, but ICANN gets a buck or so, so I think Telnic nets $6-7 per domain.

it is indeed 8 bucks. ICCAN only get around .25 and that doesn't come out of the 8 fee (its paid by the registrar). so you can see why many registrars haven't flocked to sell tel as there isn't much of a markup and upsell for them in its current form. partnering with the yellow pages of the world makes more sense as they have potential for more upsell as would telco's

No. That is incorrect.
It was noted in a very early thread on this forum.
$6 and change. Sorry I cannot remember specifics

Alright according to MAYA at the end of 2012 will be the end of the world, so let those landrush premium domains drops and I will pick them up.
