American Express is promoting Telnames

Post by Alex on Wed 05 Sep 2012, 6:00 am

In cooperation with American Express everybody can get a .tel domain at Telnames with the code AMEX2012 for £9.95 until 31st December 2012.

(This is the longest lifespan for a coupon code from Telnames so far, since they usually run only for a few weeks.)

See details at http://www.telnames.com/amex/

Speculating, but sounds like they got in contact with some payment solutions? hint hint? maybe this is a step towards using a .tel to pay bills and send money with one click + pin without seeing the paypal login or another type of page? with an active login of course.. I wish...

Fustachio, nice thought!

Unfortunately http://AmericanExpress.tel and http://American-Express.tel don't show any kind of activity.

But one of the (former ?) CEOs of Telnic has some relation to American Express:

Ray Pierce, 54, is a seasoned senior executive, with experience at the highest level in general management, business development and marketing. He has been involved in the launch and development of three major businesses: Guardian Direct (a subsidiary of Guardian Royal Exchange (GRE) Plc), The Mortgage Corporation (a subsidiary of Salomon Inc), and American Express Financial Services. His senior management career culminated in his appointment in 1997 to the Main Board of GRE, then one of the top-100 companies on the UK Stock Exchange.

Where did you get that from - never heard of him - I thought http://Kash.tel had always been the CEO of Telnic ?

PS. The link http://companycheck.co.uk/company/03555437 shows a list of the current Telnic directors and the date they were appointed.

So it looks like all the original management team have quit Telnic, according to the list of current directors at http://companycheck.co.uk/company/03555437
