NEW .TEL - Recent Registrations not showing in Telnic account !

Post by mikeseaton on Fri 10 Mar 2017, 6:42 pm

Like other forum members I have my existing .Tel domains showing in https://www.managemy.tel - this was generated by Telnic automatically (probably matching on email address) and neatly puts all your .Tels in one Telnic account for easy management of the NEW .TEL Telnames-style template, so you can populate and update them before the NEW .TEL live date of Monday 13 March 2017.

Fine so far !

BUT on 7 March I registered a further 3 .Tel domains (using my normal Registrar Name.com), yet these 3 recent registrations have NOT been added to my automatically generated Telnic account - nor have Telnic emailed me to say that a new Telnic account has been created just for these 3 recently registered domains.

So Telnic how exactly do I populate and update these 3 domains ?

Surely you automatically pick up new .Tel registrations, match them on email address, and add them to the relevant existing Telnic account ?

How exactly do you link new .Tel registrations (mine are at Name.com) to a registrant's existing Telnic account ?

Has this been thought through properly ?

Please tell me it has - and that my 3 new .Tel domains, purchased on 7 March - will soon appear in my Telnic account (today is 10 March).

Has anyone else registered new .Tel domains from 7 March onwards and had them put in their existing Telnic account, or even a new Telnic account created to hold them ?

No, let's see first what happens with .tel after March 13.

Maybe, more premium domains will begin to drop soon.

Moonlight, please, book a ticket to New York now. There are lots of venues where you can hone your comedy routines. Then you can make lots of money doing stand-up on late-night TV.

You are priceless, really! Seinfeld is an amateur by comparison.

Also, in the belief that you may have been nestled in your formative years in the arms of an English state school, let me advise that the correct grammar is "many more .tel domains", not "much more". Toddle pip old fruit!

From Monday, when Telpages gets turned off, you won't even know which domains have been registered.

So make the most of it now if you want this information !

Here's the link you need (indexing is usually a day or two behind registration) - http://d0.telpages.com/latest.action

PS. I note quite a few XXX.tel domains registered racently.

Looks like NEW .TEL registrants will need to "claim" a free Telnic TelHosting account rather than have it assigned automatically by their Registrar !

Here's a link to the page on the NEW .TEL web site that tells you what to do
https://www.do.tel/signup/

It's a bit of a pain to have to do this (particularly for newbies) - far better to have it assigned automatically at the point of purchase - if "Normal DNS" is later required then this can easily be achieved by Nameserver updating at your Registrar - in the meanwhile you would have the Telnames-style template up-and-running automatically from point of purchase !

Keeping things simple for newbies (a key target market for NEW .TEL) is very important !

I've just been through the validation process at https://www.do.tel/signup/ for one of the .TEL domains I registered on 7 March, which caused me to start this thread.

I already have 80 .TEL domains in a single TelHosting account automatically created for existing .TEL registrants recently by Telnic - that's fine - a dropdown list makes for easy selection.

BUT now every new .TEL domain I register is going to have it's own separate Telnic TelHosting account for just 1 domain - meaning if I have say 100 domains I will have 80 in one account and then 20 further accounts, each with it's own password, and each holding just 1 domain !

THAT'S CRAZY - there needs to be a way of adding newly registered .TEL domains (preferably automatically) to your ONE TELHOSTING ACCOUNT with dropdown domain selection !
