The same Estibot thinks that value of hotels.com is $ 13,570,000 USD

So, even Estibot thinks that super "premium" TEL is worth 3015 times less than the same COM.

P.S.
Estibot will never buy the domain for the money in which they evaluate domains. I think they would not buy it for 1/10 or even for 1/50 of the money they show us as a value of a domain. So the real situation with value of TEL is much worse that Estibot thinks.

We can keep "premium" TEL domain for 10 years and spent on renewals of this domain total $ 120. And after 10 years we would sell this domain for, say, $ 100-150 (because no buyer will propose more). Good business we could have, not so? : )

And that perspective of selling TEL domains could play only for "premium" TEL domains - total number of which could be about 3000 psc. All the rest (not "premium" TELs) domains could not have even this very modest possibilities.

@maxi

Your aversion to .tel is understandable: anyone who has lost money with an investment in the past doesn't want someone else to earn money with it later. Hence, you have to make it bad as long as possible. It's very interesting to observe how long this frustration can last in the case of .tel domainers.

Natal, I have no aversion to TEL, nor I have a frustration. I reduced the number of my TELs to 10 psc., so I am calm and happy and do not worry much about it.

So, if one nice day TEL registry will come to other hands and Telnic will go away from TEL, when may be these my 10 domains will have some value; if Telnic will remain for the next 10 years the owner of the extension and situation will degrade further, then my future losses will not be big.

So I can look with cool mind to the situation with TEL and to see the grey reality, and not live in the world of fantasies, which have no grounds.

@maxi - The facts show Estibot was in fact pretty accurate about the value of Hotels.com - the last time it was sold (in 2001) it went for  $ 11,000,000 USD - see https://www.domaining.com/topsales for confirmation of this.

4,500 USD is a cheap price for any domain with only the keyword 'hotels', doesn't matter with what domain extension (including .tel).

I do not doubt that Estibot owners knew about that sale and put this value in their algorithm. The question is about accuracy of their evaluation of TELs.

That hypothesis could become true if somebody would buy hotels_tel for those 4,500 USD. At the moment, as I understand, there are no such buyers. So, I think, we will not make a mistake if we will say that until the moment of that sale will be completed, currenly it is only a dream and nothing more.

***
Telnic sells dreams, collects our real money and at the same time is not resposible will these dreams become true or not. Some people are willing to invest their real money in dreams, some no. I personally do not want to buy dreams.

How do you know?

How can you draw such a conclusion?

Do you know that 90 % of all domain sales happen outside the public?

Only because you are not willing to pay that price doesn't mean that other people have no interest!

Usually sales in TELs in more than $ 1000 USD are "loud" and everyone talks about that.

Of course, if this deal had place and you had bought/sold Hotels_tel for $ 4500 USD, then I congratulate you, and wish the new domain owner to make a good usage of the domain!
