Can it be that in real registrations are not 100,000 .tel, but only a fraction of it?

With this forum, I offer all interested parties the possibility to exchange information about .tel.

After I've observed declined interest in the domain extension of .tel, I have to decide if it will be still worthwile to keep this forum online.

In one year I will reconsider my decision to renew the domain tel.community.

As you know, I don't benefit from the existence of this website.
If no active discussion on this forum will happen during the next 12 months, I will propably shut down the complete project.

I have only extended this domain, because forum members have asked me for this favor.
It's up to the community if this forum will continue to exist.
Everyone can help to make this happen by participating in an active exchange of opinions.
On the other hand, I could imagine that a group of .tel holders exist that even wish the closure of this website.

Let's find out what will happen during the next 12 months.
Talk to you in one year from now!

Seeing as the forum at Telnic/telnames has completely disappeared, best keep this one

Thank you, Boracay!

I'm a little bit unsure about what to do in the future.

For now, the forum will run another year.
If I will get enough support, I will continue it further.

Let's see what the future will bring.

I hope this forum to survive.

I've lost interest in .tel and dropped most of them.
but restarted to register .tel from last fall.

it might be old fashion for western people,
but There are areas where the Internet is not yet popular.
There are areas where English is not spoken.

Even in areas where you do not know the term "mail","web","online" the word "TEL" is widely recognized.
for the people who discover internet by their smartphone, .tel might be a keyword to the new world.

.com is the king of TLD, no dought.
but not for the region where they don't understand english.

when I registered NNNN.com, people told me it's no use, waste of money,
but it's sold by five figures.

The future can not be predicted.
I love the words 'bet on what everyone will not bet'

I doubt that this will happen just out of the blue.
.tel would require massive effort to become famous.

The competition is very big and I see no party who is interested in the success of .tel (not now and not in the future).
Even the sponsoring operator has no interest in .tel at all.

Hi, TelFan

>>.tel would require massive effort to become famous.
I agree with you 100%

almost nobody knows .tel, i mean common people around me.
even people working for registra(domain.com, onlinenic,, etc, etc) didn't know .tel lifted restriction.

It took a month to change nameserver of .tel
Their reply was 'You can't change nameserver'
Whaat?
name.com was quick, dynadot was day behind

>>The competition is very big and I see no party who is interested in the success of .tel (not now and not in the future).

this part is bit different from my point of view.
.tel is not gNew tld(.tel has fixed renewal fee you don't have to worry about)
people are getting tired of gNew tld( my .flowers costs more than $100 to renew!!)

GoDaddy is planning to release .tel
https://www.godaddy.com/tlds/tel-domain
or
https://in.godaddy.com/tlds/tel-domain

I chatted on godaddy support just now.
Me: When can i register .tel?
GoDaddy: It will be released soon.
If we get the notification we will be definitely providing you the information.

As of now we have not got any particular date.

and telchina has announced new document

In my last message, I became very pessimistic.

But in this short time, several things have happened:

  1. GoDaddy plans to offer .tel domains (!)
  2. New .tel initiatives in China
  3. Offer of .tel domains through Sedo MLS
  4. Sale of .tel premium domains
  5. Change of the .tel registry

Very likely it's wrong to become impatient. It seems that .tel will continue to be exciting. At least, it's still worthwile to keep this forum alive.

It would be the only one remarkable news, which could rise chances of TEL, that Mr. Cash became RIP as the .tel registry CEO.

Yes, Sedo MLS is a good way to get any domain listed at multiple registrars (with instant ordering and payment).

Here is an example - http://Coins.tel that I have listed at Sedo at $9888 USD (unfortunately Sedo Parking for .Tels is still awaiting them to fix - there is a support ticket in I submitted).

Here are some links which have the it listed for sale:

Sedo - https://sedo.com/search/details/?domain=coins.tel

DomainDiscount24 - https://www.domaindiscount24.com/en/domains/domain-search?query=coins.tel

Moniker - https://www.moniker.com/domains/searchresult?query=coins.tel

Name.comhttps://www.name.com/domain/search/coins.tel

You will note that whilst Sedo and Moniker have http://Coins.tel listed at $9888 USD, DomainDiscount24 convert the price to GBP (at least when viewing from the UK) and Name.com add a markup to the USD price.

Why not give Sedo MLS a go - it's always better to have 80% of something (Sedo MLS commission is 20%) rather than 100% of nothing !

In East there is a saying: "You can say many-many times 'Halva' but it will not become sweet in your mouth".

What ever GoDaddy, Sedo and others would do, till the current registry management will rule the TEL, till that time value of TELs will be around zero.
