Telnic assigns .TEL Registry Agreement to...

Post by mikeseaton on Sun 23 Apr 2017, 9:37 am

...it's 100% owned subsidiary Telnames Ltd, effective date 28 February 2017, in yet another cunning move !

This is confirmed by ICANN itself at https://www.icann.org/resources/agreement/tel-2016-12-01-en which states:

Effective 28 February 2017, the Registry Agreement was assigned by Telnic Limited to Telnames Limited, which now operates the .tel top-level domain.

When I made the recent post at http://www.tel.community/t4572-telnic-writes-off-3539443-loan#17372 I was curious as to WHY Telnic Ltd would write off a £3,539,443 loan to Telnames Ltd ?

I wrote the text below and quoted the reason given by Telnic Ltd. in their annual accounts that I had just read:

As we know Telnic Ltd had a NEGATIVE NET WORTH of £-636,500 - see https://companycheck.co.uk/company/03555437/TELNIC-LIMITED/financials - this is known as ACCOUNTING INSOLVENCY - see http://www.recoveryandturnaround.co.uk/news/what-is-insolvency

The reason for this downward shift in an already precarious financial position becomes clear when you read the accounts - Telnic Ltd have written off a loan of £3,539,443 made to their wholly-owned subsidiary Telnames Ltd "due to a new contract which will result in reduced activity in the subsidiary".

The reason given above in Telnic Ltd's accounts doesn't exactly tally with the ICANN statement - IF the loan is being written off due to "reduced activity in the subsidiary" then HOW is this squared with the transfer of the .Tel Registry agreement from Telnic Ltd to this same subsidiary Telnames Ltd ?

So at the drop of a hat the .TEL REGISTRY has gone from NEGATIVE NET WORTH (KNOWN AS "ACCOUNTING INSOLVENCY") of  £-636,500 shown at https://companycheck.co.uk/company/03555437/TELNIC-LIMITED/financials to POSITIVE NET WORTH of £64,100 shown at https://companycheck.co.uk/company/07471889/TELNAMES-LIMITED/financials !

I DO WISH TELNIC/TELNAMES WOULD STOP PLAYING ACCOUNTING GAMES AND JUST GET ON WITH THE ESSENTIAL PRO-ACTIVE MARKETING NEEDED OF THE .TEL GTLD IN IT'S POST-13 MARCH FORM !

IS THIS CUNNING APPROACH TO BUSINESS THE ONLY WAY TELNIC/TELNAMES KNOW HOW TO OPERATE ?

@maxi - can't be sure as Telnic/Telnames operate in mysterious ways - but consider this.

Telnic Ltd. had 3 problems before the .Tel Registry assignment on 28 February 2017:

1. Do a search on the internet for Telnic in their role as .Tel Registry and you will find lots of criticism of their performance and attitude towards .Tel registrants over recent years.

2. They were potentially vulnerable if it was pointed out to ICANN that as the .Tel Registry they were in "Accounting Insolvency" i.e. Telnic's latest accounts showed a Negative Net Worth of £-636,500 as confirmed by https://companycheck.co.uk/company/03555437/TELNIC-LIMITED/financials

3. Any potential buyer of Telnic Ltd who looked at the history of their accounts would see a consistent year after year of continuing losses - remember they started off with $35,000,000 of shareholder funds.

Assigning the .Tel Registry to Telnames Ltd on 28 February 2017 now means:

1. A search on the internet for Telnames would bring up nothing like the number of negative posts that Telnic would do.

2. A check on the latest acccounts would show a Positive Net Worth of £64,100 as confirmed by https://companycheck.co.uk/company/07471889/TELNAMES-LIMITED/financials

3. Any potential buyer of Telnames Ltd who looked at the history of their accounts would see a much better financial history (and much shorter in terms of years) than the history of Telnic Ltd shows.

If you were a shareholder of Telnic/Telnames which scenario would you prefer to have if you intended to offload your investment as soon as possible to a buyer ?

There is another big advantage for Khashayar Mahdavi:

Telnic had a high number of shareholders who have invested $35m into Telnic:
http://www.tel.community/t452-the-investors-behind-telnic-35m
Those investors just lost their money with this next cunning move by Telnic.

With this smart move described above, Khashayar Mahdavi has realized the plan he was always waiting for.
This was predicted many times on this forum, e.g.:

@dl7 - Telnames Ltd (according to 31 December 2015 accounts) is a 100% owned subsidiary of Telnic Ltd - so the shareholders of Telnic Ltd will automatically own the same percentage of Telnames Ltd.

It is frightening to keep track of the superfluous games by Telnic.

What are these tricks by Telnic good for?

See this, too: http://www.tel.community/t4417-telnic-and-telnames-have-founded-two-new-companies

On the other hand, Telnic isn't interested in .tel itself at all!

Telnic / Telnames = the laziest company in the world!

@MikeSeaton

Thank you very much for your effort and the important transparency about Telnic's behaviour.

With you, we wouldn't have all this valuable information!

Here's a PDF of the ICANN document whereby Telnic Ltd assigned the .TEL REGISTRY to Telnames Ltd on 28 February 2017 - https://www.icann.org/sites/default/files/tlds/tel/tel-assign-pdf-28feb17-en.pdf

The ASSIGNOR giving away the .TEL REGISTRY for FREE is Khashayar Mahdavi with the title of CEO of Telnic Ltd.

The ASSIGNEE receiving the .TEL REGISTRY for FREE is Khashayar Mahdavi with the title of CEO of Telnames Ltd.

I bet Kash gets up in the morning and wonders what hat he has to wear today !

Re: Telnic assigns .TEL Registry Agreement to...

So to summarise Telnames Ltd has done pretty well for itself recently for a virtually defunct company:

1. It's had the outstanding loan due to Telnic Ltd of £3,539,443 written off !

2. It's been given the .TEL REGISTRY by Telnic Ltd for FREE !

Now perhaps Telnames Ltd will start getting active again - perhaps with some .TEL marketing ?

Or is all this just part of a ruse to make it easier to SELL THE .TEL gTLD asap ?

mikeseaton, thanks!

I think that perhaps it could please both Telnic and Telnames if writing about them here in the forum, we will write their names as Telnic (akaTelnames LTD) and Telnames (aka Telnic LTD). ; )

@maxi

That makes sense indeed, since all these Telnic companies have been founded only for the purpose of accounting tricks and bypassing legal regulations.

TelFan, yes, now it became clear that Telnic (akaTelnames LTD) do not seeks what is good for TEL extension but what is good for Mr. Kash.

I think if we will actively use that writing (Telnames LTD = aka Telnic LTD) then we could help Telnames LTD (aka Telnic LTD) to find more good buyes of their business - because when all the history of Telnames LTD (aka Telnic LTD) will be known widely, then they could ask a smaller and more reasonable price for TEL extesion and thus they will quicker find right buyers. ; )

Christian name .tels dropping are being snapped up by some kind of mystery? Perhaps will be the marketing push coming of first and family names and then we see the re-runs of the advert of Ben and Emma. Something like that because other types of tels dropping are easily re/registered just not names

I'd like to see a marketing push of any kind actually
At least The map would get fixed before they spent on advertising!!!!!

One could say Telnic was a toxic bureaucracy and a web of outrageous overhead, and experimentation, whereas Telnames is clean and easier to manage, streamlined, efficient, and produced the nice template, and produced the nice app, and the nice control panel, even though it was still Telnic staff and still owned by Telnic, they would not have gotten that template and other aspects developed if they didn't try and build on how Telnic failed, and have the subsidiary to have the freedom to do so.

Like anyone who aims for success, they learned through failure and produced great results and now it's not hard to imagine one would prefer the "nice" and developed (refined business model) business to the one that's a mess and outdated.

It just needs more pages to please people (which will never come), plus the contact forms and other booking systems and advanced stuff to round it off, plus fixing the SEO complaints via some new idea for generating traffic.

The videos are nice but I would like to see embeddable 3D product placements, https://sketchfab.com/ the embed acts like a normal video embed but if you're not compatible it shows as images you can rotate and if your browser is compatible it shows as a 3d object.

View via firefox 3d (ps4) https://sketchfab.com/models/b7LzIm8JrnPw4GBDOMBNGYc39qM

Also more 360 degree embeds and walkthroughs of business locations, hotels etc.
https://www.houston360photo.com/share-panoramic-walkthrough-with-the-world/

When you book a room, you should be able to take a walk through of that location that's up to date aka recent, as people hate getting to their room to see construction outside or it being a bad hotel.

Anyway, it's probably easier to manage, and maybe Telnic will get dissolved leaving just Telnames that the investors have income from and a clean re-start to build for success.

No success of any kind will ever be possible as long the same bad management stays in charge.

Nobody should hope for the impossible!

It must be written more clearly:

Telnic has not the slightest motivation leading .tel to success. Telnic has not the slightest knowledge how to lead a business. Telnic had only the concept of collecting money the easiest possible way.

Warning:

Everyone who is buying .tel domains or is renewing registered .tel domains is supporting only the growth of the private bank account of Khashayar Mahdavi.

You will find a lot of proof that .tel is not a serious business:

The only business model of Telnic was and is personal enrichment of the managers.

Don't be a fool!

The situation with TEL, I imagine like this picture: "It is a long and a hard journey to TEL success":

Some tips: the carrot is TEL success. The donkey most likely looks like we - TEL-fans. Who is the rider, I think it is not difficult to make a right answer.

I completely share the frustration about Telnic / Telnames.

Telnic has promoted a revolutionary technology, but has never done anything to develop it further. A business can't work just by passive waiting for customers.

Further to my original post the TELNIC web site is now no more - click http://www.Telnic.org to see what i mean.

Note the © 2017 Telnames Limited text in the bottom right corner.

To all intents and purposes TELNIC HAS CEASED TO BE !

Reminds me of the Monty Python Dead Parrot sketch !
