EDM - new Google's filter

Post by maxi on Mon 22 Oct 2012, 12:56 am

"EMD" is a new Google politics for domains, which contains keywords. It sounds unlogic, but it seems that Google is going to penalize sites, which have keywords in the domain name. People talk, that domains with dashes are also the target of that penalization.

My own primarily version is that Google is preparing to the introduction of those 1000+ new gTDL. And he wants to say that site on the domain like keyword.newGTDL will be not equal to domains like keyword.com, keyword.net etc.

In a word, may be a "weight" of domain name with keyword will be related to the market's value of that domain or "value" of domain's extension. If it will be so, then, perhaps, it is worth to re-look portfolios and to think one more time about value of each domain.

Very interesting!
How Google will treat existing extensions like .tel in comparison?
Does Google treat a .com differently than other extensions, especially newTLDs?
Perhaps this will solve the problem: http://www.teltalk.org/t614-here-s-why-google-could-disappear-in-five-years

The same will happen with Google + Facebook as soon the next competitor with a better solution will rise.
Google + Facebook are the best services at the moment, but they are really not perfect and not prepared for the mobile web at all.
Yes, when thinking about that "EDM" I remembered that your notice about Google.

When some enterprise grow up to some size, then, I suspect, not the most talented men take the key positions there. But they decide about that enterprise' politics. Let's hope that soon Google will be not the number one between seach-engines.
